I write for print and online outlets, covering travel, arts and entertainment, culture, and current events.

 

When it comes to travel writing, I specialize in western North America, from Canada to Mexico, although I've also ventured farther afield. I often cover outdoor recreation, culinary scenes, and wine.

 

Work has appeared in regional and national publications including the Seattle Times (regular contributor), the London Sunday Times, Beyond (the Alaska Airlines in-flight magazine) and the New York Times.

Much of what I do involves learning about things and then introducing people to them, whether it means explaining modern dance, introducing readers to a fascinating new place, or demonstrating how to start a new activity.
